The Pack is primarily financed by popcorn sales. The sales cover most of the basic costs of supporting a year of Scouting: patches, emblems, advancements, books, and belt loops and pins. Collection of Pack dues is also known as “rechartering.”

*A note about rechartering: Some first time parents find this confusing since they paid money when their Scout joined in September. The "scout year" runs from February to February and that September collection is the initial registration which takes you to the first rechartering. The February payment covers an entire year in Cub Scouting and you will not need to pay again for another year.

So that we can have a richer program, we supplement dues by selling popcorn. Popcorn is a major fundraiser for Scouting and supports not only our Pack, but also the District and Council.

Plus, we will also have the extra incentive for the Scouts in the form of being able to earn dollars towards their scout account. Sales in excess of the minimum dollar amount go into a fund known as the “scout account.” These funds are the Scout’s to use towards rechartering, Summer Day Camp, or even Scout store purchases.

POINTS TO GO OVER: with your kids:

    * Always sell with another Scout or with an adult
    * Always walk on the sidewalk
    * Don't carry large amounts of cash
    * Never sell after dark unless you're with an adult
    * Never enter anyone's home

SELLING TIPS

    * Smile and introduce yourself
    * Always wear your uniform and be courteous
    * Bring 2 or 3 pens with you.
    * Make a backup of your order form.
    * Know the different kinds of popcorn we're selling this year
    * Always say "Thank You!"
    * Collect the money when you deliver the product.
